Microsoft launched a new volume licensing program last December, called the Microsoft Products & Services Agreement (MPSA), which promises to simplify the vendor's notoriously complicated licensing by letting customers buy all the software they need under a single agreement. Microsoft began rolling out the MPSA in the US, UK, Germany and Canada late last year and has since expanded to a total of 13 countries worldwide. Ultimately, the MPSA will replace several other Microsoft licensing agreements, including Select Plus and others, for organizations with at least 250 seats. Here are six things Microsoft partners and customers need to know about MPSA, which appears to be the software giant's most aggressive attempt to date to streamline its Byzantine software licensing structure.
